This room spray might kill you-Walmart recalls alert

Wal-Mart has issued a recall notice for approximately 3,900 bottles of Better Homes and Gardens brand essential oil-infused gem scented indoor spray. There are six different smells of room spray, and the recall is due to the existence of a rare and dangerous bacteria that may cause serious injury or even death.

According to the news released, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tested a version of the product and determined that it contained Burkholderia pseudomallei, a dangerous bacterium that causes melioidosis. The CDC has been investigating four cases of melioidosis in the United States, two of whom died. Kansas, Minnesota, Texas and Georgia have all reported cases, including a child death.

From February 2021 to October 2021, this room spray will be sold online in about 55 Wal-Mart stores and walmart.com nationwide at a price of approximately US$4.
