Forecasters are paying close attention to the two storm systems that may sweep across the northern United States in the next six days, but they say it is too early to predict whether New Jersey will snow due to these storms.

As of Thursday, forecasters stated that the first storm system may bring showers to the Garden State from late Sunday to Monday, as temperatures are expected to be too high to support the snow.

A larger storm system may be formed next Tuesday or Wednesday, but as of now, most forecasters tend to keep the storm and the coldest air in the northern part of our region in the first orbit. So snow lovers in New Jersey may have to wait until later this month or next month to see our first snowstorm.

The National Weather Service said that if precipitation enters when the temperature is below freezing, there may be showers in the northwestern part of the state on Tuesday night. But so far, forecasters from the agency’s Holly Hills office have stated that they believe the temperature in most parts of New Jersey on Wednesday will be mild enough to rain.

Also: Early signs of a cold and snowy December? This is the forecast of the forecaster.

"As another system knocks on our door on Wednesday, the temperature rise means that we should see the whole area raining most of the time, although some snow may sometimes be mixed in, especially if you pass further in the forecast area. To the north and west," the Bureau of Meteorology said in the forecast discussion on Thursday afternoon.

Bottom line: As with most winter storms, it is too early for forecasters to deal with the impact of next week's storm, because of the many uncertainties in the path, precise temperature, and moisture content in the atmosphere.

But this is something worthy of attention.
