I made the famous Kit Kat cheesecake and now I know all the fuss

This no-bake Kit Kat cheesecake was shared by British baker Eloise Head on her TikTok channel @fitwaffle: a circle of crispy Kit Kat breadcrumbs, topped with cheesecake filling and chocolate. Obviously, there are a lot of enthusiastic Kit Kat fans, because her video about this decadent dessert quickly gained more than one million views.

Thousands of comments have also been added-but I noticed something is missing. Obviously, TikTok fans are very excited about this cake, they said: "This looks really good!" and "I have to do it." However, no one seems to be really trying to make one! Well, it’s one thing to look good, but we know the evidence is in the cheesecake. I make (and taste) Kit Kat cheesecake by myself!

This recipe is adapted from a recipe shared by Eloise in her viral TikTok video. Allow time for two stages of cooling: one stage for filling and one stage for the finished cake. You need 46 Kit Kat fingers in total-four for each package, which means you need 12 packages. You can keep the remaining two pieces for yourself!

Cut the graham crackers into small pieces and put them in a food processor or mini chopper. Pulse the biscuits until they are ground into finely ground crumbs. When the machine is running, pour the melted butter through the feed pipe. If necessary, scrape off the bowl and process the mixture until the crumbs are moist.

Snap a 9-inch spring cake pan together and line the bottom with a circle of parchment paper or wax paper. Place 38 Kit Kats inside the pan with the Kit Kat logo facing out, and then fit them side by side.

Work carefully to avoid knocking Kit Kats over and scoop the moistened graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of the cake pan. Gently spread the crumbs on the sides with the Kit Kat lining. Use a tamping tool or the bottom of a water cup to press the crumbs into a firm, even layer. (The housing holds the Kit Kats in place.)

Chill the mixing bowl in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. When ready, pour two cups of heavy cream into a bowl and whip the cream at high speed. Scrape the bowl once or twice, whipping the cream until stiff peaks form. Put this aside.

Whisk the softened cream cheese in a stand mixer or hand mixer until it becomes smooth and creamy. Slowly add the candy sugar until it is fully incorporated. Use a rubber spatula to gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

Scoop the cream cheese filling into the cake pan and smooth it on the graham cracker crust to form an even layer. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cake for 5 hours.

Place 8 Kit Kat fingers on the cutting board. Cut them into thick pieces with a sharp knife. Put these aside.

Gently heat 1/2 cup of heavy cream in a pan or bowl in the microwave until hot. Pour in the dark chocolate chips and stir gently until they melt and blend smoothly with the cream.

Editor's note: Have never done ganache before? This is our step-by-step guide.

Remove the plastic wrap from the frozen cake. Carefully scoop the ganache on top of the cheesecake filling. Use a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon to spread the chocolate on the whole cake. Spread the chopped Kit Kats evenly on the ganache, then gently press them into the chocolate. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours.

Use a sharp knife to cut the Kit Kat cheesecake into thin slices. I find a serrated knife is best for cutting the ganache layer without crushing the cheesecake filling. Gently pull the serrated knife back and forth through the chocolate, then lower it through the cheesecake and graham base.

You will be happy to hear that this cheesecake is indeed as delicious as it looks! The buttery toast crust is delicious with the fluffy cream cheesecake filling and dark chocolate. Not to mention taking a bite of crushed Kit Kats on each fork of cake-combining candy bars with exquisite ganache cheesecake is an indulgence.

The reason why this Kit Kat cheesecake is so impressive on TikTok is because when you prepare it for your guests, it is equally impressive: the dramatic appearance of the cake surrounded by the Kit Kats wall. My guests are very happy to taste this dessert.

Because this is a no-bake cheesecake filling, it is a simple dessert prepared in advance for a dinner or event. Next time, I might even try different Kit Kat flavors.

We made the viral Kit Kat cheesecake, and now we know that the fuss post first appeared on the taste of hometown.
