ASUS and Noctua have collaborated to create the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, which is equipped with two 25mm thick high-quality Noctua NF-A12 fans. Noctua is a well-known manufacturer of high-end enclosures and CPU cooling solutions. ASUS and Noctua engineers worked together to connect two classic NF-A12x25 PWM fans with a unique cooling solution mounted on a custom PCB. This powerful combination makes ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition cooler and quieter than any other air-cooled graphics card in its class. Asus calls it the coolest and quietest graphics card in its class.

ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 is an excellent graphics card, but the cooperation between ASUS and Noctua will enhance the cooling effect and provide customers with less noise. According to internal testing, when measured side by side, Noctua Edition provides a significant improvement, with noise levels reduced by 15dB(A) at medium fan speeds and 9dB(A) at maximum fan speeds. Even when the GPU load is 100%, the card will keep its fan at a relatively low speed when used with good ventilation and an ambient temperature of 24°C or lower. In this typical case, the noise level of the Noctua version is reduced by 5.7dB(A) compared with the standard version. It is not only quiet but also almost inaudible, with a noise level of only 12.6dB(A). Customers with well-ventilated systems and moderate ambient temperatures can now play games or perform other GPU-intensive housework in almost complete silence.
When the GPU temperature drops below 50°C, the GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition has a semi-passive fan control arrangement (ASUS 0dB technology), which can completely turn off the fan. This means that under lower GPU load, such as during office productivity tasks, online browsing, or light gaming, the card can run completely without a fan.
