We admit it: We enjoy taking photos of our food almost as much as we enjoy eating it. We both roamed the state in search of culinary bliss this year, and have the snapshots to prove it.

Here are our favorite New Jersey food photos of 2021. This is not a list of the best things we ate this year (look for that list early next year). Not all the photos are of food. One is a mural of legendary singer Nina Simone outside an Atlantic City pizzeria. Another advertises “naked goat cheese” (I had to look that one up). Another shows the de-commissioning of the Munchmobile (sniff). My favorite food photo: a sign outside a pizzeria advising youthful customers to “pull your pants up” before entering.
