Green County restaurant inspection from October 29 to November 4

Depending on the type of food provided, the population provided, the level of difficulty of food preparation, and past history, food agencies in Greene County undergo one to three inspections a year.

The problems found in the inspection are divided into two categories: priority and non-priority. Priority violations are issues that may have a direct impact on food safety, and if they persist, they may cause restaurants to close. Non-priority violations usually focus on sanitation or building maintenance.

The following is information provided by the Springfield-Green County Health Department regarding restaurant inspections in the past 7 days:

Aramark-Chase, 303 E. Republic St. 11/02/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. The requirements for protecting the contact surface of the outer cup lip are discussed. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Bambino's Cafe & Bake Shop, 2810 E Battlefield Road. 11/03/2021-Routine inspection; Result: activated. Priority violations found: 3. Observed: butter milk with a shelf life of 10/26/21. Discard it during inspection. Observation: Found that the can opener is not clean. Corrected during inspection. It was observed that the concentration of the dishwasher disinfectant was found to be lower than 50 ppm-100 ppm. Corrected during inspection. Non-priority violations found: 2. Observation: The ceiling vents and tiles in the kitchen area are not clean. Observation: The ventilation system of the walk-in cooler was found to be dirty. 

Bellacino's Pizza & Grinders, 4560 S. Campbell Ave. 11/03/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: The cheesecake is stored in the refrigerated display case at 44F. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Bissett School, 3014 W. Calhoun St. 11/04/2021-routine inspection; result: active. Marty is the person in charge of the inspection. No violations were found. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Braum's Ice Cream #274, 604 N Glenstone Ave. 11/02/2021-Routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 2. A small 46-47F milk distribution cooler was observed. The milk is voluntarily discarded. The new bladder was placed in control for 4 hours and the unit refused. Observe the dressing in the cube cooler at the front desk kept at 45F. Move the dressing to the backup cooler. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Bubba's Bbq, 504 N. West Bypass. 11/04/2021-Compliance Check 2; Result: Compliance. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: The concentration of chlorine disinfectant in three large tanks was found to exceed 100 ppm. The chlorine disinfectant should be 50 ppm to 100 ppm. Correct when checking. Non-priority violations found: 2. Observation: The lights in the corridor storage area and the walk-in cooler were not shielded. Observation: The outer door does not fully close automatically, you can see the sunlight on the bottom and sides. 

Casey's General Store #2613, 410 S Miller Road, Willard. 11/02/2021-Routine inspection; Result: activated. Amy is the person in charge of the inspection. No violations were found. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Casey's General Store #3011, 2805 N. Kansas Expressway. 11/03/2021-Recheck; Result: activated. When rechecking, Jin is the person in charge. The refrigerator has been repaired and has an operating temperature of 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Central High School, 423 E. Central St. 11/04/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. No violations were found during the inspection. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Chinese Chef, 3029 S. Campbell Ave. 11/03/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 2. Fume hood filters and frames with grease accumulation were observed. Observe the gap at the bottom of the kitchen side door. 

El Poblano Grill & Cantina, 2629 N Kansas Expressway. 11/01/2021-Routine inspection; Result: activated. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: A fully sealed, cooked shredded chicken pan found at 50 degrees Fahrenheit and marked with the date of the previous day. Education given and products discarded. Non-priority violations found: 6. Observation: Employees found drinks without lids and straws in the kitchen. Observation: The toilet door cannot be closed automatically. Observation: The two lights in the hood system are not shielded. Observation: There are no lights in walk-in refrigerators and walk-in freezers. Observation: It was found that the taps on the three large bucket sinks were leaking. It was observed that the disposable items still in the transport packaging were stored directly on the floor.

El Taco, 316 W. Kearney St. 11/04/2021-Routine inspection; result: active. Discussed the cleaning frequency of floors, walls and equipment, and can openers. It is necessary to install a thermometer in the refrigeration unit and clean the ice maker more frequently. Disposable items are required to be stored 6" from the floor. Appropriate cooling methods are discussed. The requirement to discard food past the discard date is discussed. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: Insufficient disinfectant in the wipe bucket . Correct the intensity by emptying the bucket and refilling it in an appropriate place. Non-priority violations found: 1. Observation: The diced tomatoes and cheese shreds are not placed in a shallow pan to promote proper cooling. Food is placed at a higher rate. In the cold unit, rapid cooling is used and correction is made through the education of the cooling process.

Korean Garden, 414 E Jackson St., Willard. 11/02/2021-Routine inspection; Result: activated. At the time of the inspection, Chin was the person in charge. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 3. Observation: The floor of the kitchen and food preparation area is not clean Observation: The water pipe next to the water heater is leaking. Observation: The container of raw chicken and beef is stored above an open container of lettuce. Correct in time by relocating the raw meat to the bottom shelf.

Observation: The indoor ice pack lacks facility address or store number.

McDonald's, 528 S. Glenstone Ave. 11/02/2021-Routine inspection; result: active. Priority violations found: 1. Several small pans were observed with food or sticky residue on the air-dried food contact surface on a clean shelf. Corrected on the spot. Non-priority violations found: 1. Observe the hot water and water on the floor in the washing machine area. The leak seems to come from the water filter.

McDonald's 2321, 2220 N. Glenstone Ave. 11/04/2021-Routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 3. Several amber pans were observed with food accumulation on the surface after cleaning and disinfection. The items are placed in a 3-tank sink for immediate cleaning. correct. Observe the dishwasher with zero ppm chlorine. The disinfection tablet container is empty. The manager added immediately. After the correction, the residual chlorine content is now 50 ppm, which meets the requirements. A cooler for breakfast burritos was observed at the end of the cooking line at 47 degrees Fahrenheit. The burritos are discarded voluntarily. Non-priority violations found: 2. Observation of drips from the ice maker leaking and draining into the ice box, falling on the ice. The ice machine was immediately shut down by the manager, and a sign indicating that it was not in use was posted. Once they pass the peak lunch period, the ice will be discarded. Rib Crib #19, 1640 N Glenstone Ave. 10/29/2021-Re-inspection; Result: Re-inspection is allowed. Priorities have been corrected from 10/28/2021, and dishwashers now have the correct residual chlorine. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 2. Food stored in the walk-in cooler was observed to leak.
